914 & MR2 T
Gee, it just so happens I have one of each.
The Toda is a 93 turbo. The teener is a 74 6 conversion. One is a daily driver and one isn't. Comparing them is and apples & oranges deal. If I could only have one car, it would have to be the Toda. Fortunately, I don't have to make that choice. All those on these pages know the capabilities of the 914. So, a little bit about the MR2. I chose it over a 944T due to reliability, design, performance, and the fact that you don't see yourself coming the other way very often. I see more 914s that MR2 Turbos. Had the MR2 been built in Stuttgart, it would proclaimed as the greatest thing since sliced bread. I have two cars with "soul" (the other being a 73 911). This means I spend plenty of time laying on the garage floor beneath them looking looking for it. BTW, the 93 is a much better car than the 91/92. Extreme care must be taken when buying a used turbo car of any manufacture. $8500 seems like a suspicously low price J P Stein |
