Steering effort with 225's??
I have some 15X7 23.3 offset phone dials and need some tires on them. My car has flares so I am going with 225/60or 50/15's on all 4. My concern is steering effort. Those that have 225's on the front please let me know how the effort is for street driving?
Thanks Kerry

Fine, as long as you're moving. Parking can be a sweat, but only in comparison to the feather-light assisted systems everything seems to have nowadays.

Do you think 215's will make much steering difference? I am not sure about the looks of the 215's either.

I'm running 205/40 ZR17's up front (275/40 ZR17's) rear and can honestly say it steers very well (even parking!). It's the whole lowering of the car that throws everything off for me (have to shorten the steering shaft because it 'binds'). I don't think you'd have any issues running the 215's as long as you weigh over 90 pounds, that is

I'll have 245/50 15s on 8" wheels all 'round. We'll have to see next spring. The car will be finished then. Really.
My car had the stock flex coupling in the steering column replaced with a much thinner VW unit (Bug I think) It appeared to fit perfectly, though my mechanic removed it. The car had been a 6 cyl track car at one point, perhaps tweaked to overcome some serious lowering? I may look putting it back later on.
