What stock steering wheels will fit on a 914? How much modification is necessary? I am thinking of a 3 spoke or a 4 spoke.

I am confused (once again...) by what you mean by stock. Do you mean a stock Porsche wheel that came with the 914, or other models of Porsche. To the best of my no-ledge, there is only one wheel that fits on the 914 perfectly, and that is the stock 914 wheel. If you want a MOMO or Dino etc... you need a special hub adapter that bolts on. Pelican has it for about $50. Easy as hell to put on.

What I meant by stock was what other factory steering wheels that came on other porsche models will work on the 914? I was thinking about the 911 /930 3-spoke or the 4 spoke wheels like on the 944 .

911 wheels are a bolt on solution....
Hello,
I was able to bolt right on a stock 4 spoke 911 wheel from 1986. I had to do some fancy work to the horn contact end to get it all to work but it slips right on. I hear that 944 wheels have different splines and do not fit right on. I took a 914 horn contact/turn signal canceler part from a used stock 914 wheel and put it into the oven at 275 degrees to get the plastic a little soft and then molded it around the base of the 911 hub. Now the 1 inch gap is covered up and the horn works as well as the turn signal contacts. As well the 911 wheel has an extra 2.5 inches in length I cut out of mine and had it welded so the wheel did not stick out as far. Though either way was perfectly fine, I prefered the closer to the dash wheel. I have a lot more pictures here: http://www.zianet.com/landt930/landt914/ I hope this helps,
