Here are some pics from this past weekend's South East Michigan 914 Owners Group Fun Run.

what route did you guys take? (former MI person here, ann arbor).

We started in Rochester and wound around Macomb county. I was lost the entire time. We went to a cider mill somewhere and then dinner in New Baltimore.

ahhhh cool, spent quite a bit of time in new baltimore around the lake. lived in MI 25 years and never saw that many 914's at once before!

I like the pic (I was behind the guy who took it for Roadglue).

Now.. tell the guy with the blue car his side marker lights are on backwards.ha ha

Cool shot. You can see the guy in the orange car was on the gas coming out of the corner and plainly see the red car was on the brakes. Car on gas exiting the corner is sticking nose in the air and the car on brakes has the nose of the car diving.

I find it impressive that ANYBODY in Michigan has a 914. I know it was tough having 914's in Texas when everybody else had a Chevy (Camaro) or Ford (Mustang).

Really impressive that somebody has a 9146.

My car wasn't ready for the cruise, but I got to see them before they left the parking lot; all very nice. BTW: looks like they found the only curvy road around here! I got a better appreciation for why the old U.S. muscle cars didn't have a lot of handling prowess when I moved here from western New York almost six years ago. Typical drive is: straight for a mile, stop sign, choice of 90 degree turns or straight ahead, straight for a mile, stop sign, choice of 90 deg turns or straight ahead, straight for a mile.... you get the idea. Possibility of a transfer back to the Finger Lakes region of NY in about two years, so I can stop tearing up my tires on the empty streets of the neighborhood they're building next to mine. There is also a pretty active AX community around here, so that may be in the cards for next summer; do they give you a handicap for running 165R-15 Michelin XZXs?.

Actually there are over 25 914s in our Southeast Michigan Owners Group and 7 factory /6s. We must be a rabid bunch here. This one came from California by way of Colorado. Note the dash is sun-baked and cracked. That's about the only flaw. I'm looking for a noncracked 1970-71 style dash for this car if you should come across a great example. Thanks, Brad.

I noticed you specifically asked for a 70-71 dash.

Do you know the differences ??

The one Porsche sells now is not correct for your car.

I busted a 9146 concourse weenie (in front of the judges..purely on accident..I didnt know the guy was a judge) about his dash. I said it had the wrong grain pattern out loud... he yelled back, "I bought it new from PORSCHE." I said, "they only sell the 75/76 grain pattern... that is the WRONG one for a 1970 9146." He was pissed. LOL

How can I join the club? I would love to be able to ride around with a bunch of 914's. I live in Battle Creek (home of Kelloggs), but would have no problem driving over for events.

My mentor, chairman of SEMOG, has taught me well that I need a 1970 or 71 dash, and as I understand, it could be from either a 4 or 6 cylinder car. Please keep me in mind. Thanks.
