SMC parts???? moan time.

Anyone on here purchased from them?,so far my recent dealing have been less than average.
The parts I have purchased aren't with our host (wish they were) and most dealing have had the following problems;
poorly made,
not in stock, waiting 21 days for one order and part of that was "on sale" then turned out to be not on there shelves,
poor fit, bought a seal and it won't fit no matter what I do.
crazy packaging ,small item in huge box = high cost to ship.

Sad that I can't buy oversea's with the feeling I'am getting what I payed for,not worth sending back half way round the world due to shipping cost besides.
Really feel Pelican do a great job and you only know when you deal with others how good it is;).

I see several things that could be SMC Parts in a Google search. Do you mean the Sierra Madre Collection? If so, I have heard reasonable things about them.

BTW, it's probably worth contacting our Sales staff directly (Glenn@pelicanparts.com is a 914 guy; Bruce Stone is as well but I don't know his Pelican email) because they usually know more about what is going on than is obvious in our on-line catalog and can sometimes get other stuff.

Yep same SMC,just after feedback from others...thanks Dave will take all onboard ,just over them now to be honest.
I think Pelican is about "'car guys" and I think SMC is about "profit guys".....take my advice be aware of that anyone thinking of dealing with them ;).
Not into flaming them fully on here so happy to account issues with PM or email, cheers.

The only advantage I seen with Sierra Madre is choice. They do seem to have some very hard to find parts. But you pay a price premium for that selection. I'm cheap so I just clean up old parts and re-use ;)

I'm sure SMC management will want your feedback. If they aren't aware of customer responses, not much usually changes.

Yep thats true as Pelican take it onboard with feedback,SMC have stopped answering emails now, current order is now over 3 weeks and no shipping notified, haven't found/checked the feedback section......maybe they don't have one ????,if so it may be less than happy faces:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:.
IMHO the hard parts are too hard ;) and this will be my last transaction with them.

I've had good experiences with SMC. However, if the part is available elsewhere and they're not communicating with you, you could call your credit card company to cancel; leave a message with SMC as well, then source the part elsewhere. Their prices are pretty competitive, but there are other vendors more than happy to take new business.

My order was sent and then they recently email me and the item I waited 3 weeks for is NLA.......so why did I wait 3 weeks?....a refund for that part of the order is supposed to be on its way??.
I just find websites that aren't updated are a real pain :(:(.
Got the order today in the mail, box the size of a small book $57usd shipping to my country????,hell I would like to become a shareholder in SMC.
Mirror base seals have schunk in the post??? don't fit mine, maybe I have the oversized mirrors, LOL,interior screw trim plugs ???maybe from another car not mine,oh and here we go again the NLA item I had all the BS with is back on there site for a kings ransom ...and appears to be in stock (not) now gone up in price 3 times plus,WTF.
Have posted feedback but reckon that will blow away with the wind out there door.
