HELP - Shifter Adjustment

I need some hands-on help if you are near me. I am in Monterey. I can come to you.

I can't engage 3rd gear. It acts like neutral. I tried adjusting it and though I had some success and thought it just needed some fine tuning I now question if I was actually in 1st and not 3rd. I am pretty sure I went through all the gears at some point but lost the setting from trying to fine-tune it. I have all gears but 3rd.

I used Dr. Evil's adjustment method. I also tried Racer Chris's method but it put R and 1st where 2nd and 3rd are supposed to be so I reverted to Dr. Evil's method.
