Question New owner - Some gauge questions

I'm the 4 day owner of 1974 2.0 914. Love it. Is it a coincidence that the gas gauge and the oil temperature gauge, which are in the same circular cluster, are not working? Where do I start tracking down the problem? Fuses are ok.

Reach up behind the gauges and push that one out. See if the wires are connected.
