Three white wires?
Guys,
I have a 1974 1.8 L with its original L jetonic FI. I have been having a problem, the car won't start. I have spark thru coil and spark plugs. I had it running for several months and now it's just died. I think it's the injectors. Anyway, I have read a lot of material on the FI as well as posts here. I have a couple of tech manuals I found on line for the L jetonic system. So, here's my question. Where do these three white wires go? The car was running without them being connected, so that's not my starting problem. But since the car should be wired per its original set up, I would like to know where these go. The three wires are contained in one bundled casing that emerges out of the wiring harness that goes over to the ECU. Here's a picture ![]()

There's a reasonable chance that the three wires in the first photo are for the optional barometric pressure compensator. I recall that those were branched off of the FI harness relatively close to the ECU connector.
I'm having trouble getting there at the moment, but the following links might tell you in more detail: 74 L-jet FI wiring harness: http://bowlsby.net/914/WiringHarnesses/HarnDia_FI_EC74-1.8.pdf 75 L-jet FI wiring harness: http://bowlsby.net/914/WiringHarnesses/HarnDia_FI_EC75-1.8.pdf Ignition harness for both 74 and 75 1.8s: http://bowlsby.net/914/WiringHarnesses/HarnDia_IGN_74-75L-Jet.pdf --DD

Thanks Dave &ClausGraf
I do think it is the wiring for the barometric pressure compensator. Thanks for those links. The pdf is informative and easier to visualize than just the wiring diagrams.
My problem is no fuel. I have spark for sure. I removed two spark plugs, put a little gas in both and the car fired up temporarily and then shut off. I am trying to determine what the likely cause for an instantaneous shut down of all four injectors. I am going to check the fuel filter first. The fuel pump is new and is running. I think it is something electrical because there is no (zero) fuel getting to the cylinders. It didn't run rough and then fade away and then not start. It just died. Fuse? relay? I don't know. Mark
