cylinder backfire

The engine seems to run fine (needs valves adjusted) but as ot idles I see the #4 clinder backfire thru the carb (dual webber 40). What could cause this.

lean condition. backfire up the carb ( rich is a backfire out the exhaust ) check for clogged idle circuit.

you will be running hot on that cylinder.


edit... leaking intake at head to manifold or carb base. spray a small amount of some wd-40 or cleaner around the mating surfaces. see if the idle picks up.

my bro likes to spray gas out of a cheap spray bottle. little scary for me.
