There's quite a waiting list, ask John Kelly, thats his work. I'm # 16 on the list, but have no idea what # he's on. Cant wait, tho.

i want those flares when i get around to buying fenders and quarterpanels but i need them in fiberglass to glue to new fiberglass fenders/quarterpanels

If John chimes in here, I'd like to see him add pictures to his site of a finished (painted) car with the flares. Best pics would be from front angle, back angle, & back straight-on.

Those are some cool looking flares, who makes them? Metal or glass?

I made the flares out of steel, and the bumper out of aluminum.
The car belongs to a local customer, has a 3.2 - 6cyl with a hot carb setup. The rear of the chassis is semi-tube frame, my work also. Recently the owner cut off the windshield and is preparing for me to alter the roll cage, with a low front hoop and extensions to the shock towers. I think he also wants me to cut out much of the front chassis and tube it as well.

Looks like a fun car Chris. Nice fab work on those flares and front end. I don't think I have ever seen somebody go to the trouble of building custom steel and alum stuff like that.

I have my sights set on a widebody 914 -- most likely a Sheridan conversion -- as my next car, if the going (business) stays good for a couple years.

GT flares are for wimps ;)

Of course, if it gets really good, admittedly I would probably buy a GT2/GT3/Cup factory (911) car instead.

Hi Chief 914 and 3d914,

I'm just finishing the second complete set. The first set will be installed, but not painted, in the next few months by the owner, with a litle help from me. So, no cars with these flares finished for a while yet.

John,

I like what you have done, insofar as you are producing a relatively simple product which you can deliver to anyone to install themself. I like that your design retains the stock fender lip, something other available flares lack. It is an important feature of the 914, and makes them look "right".
I have dreams of being able to shape my product, which is more of a complete fender or quarter panel, from a flat sheet, instead of building on the original panel. I am learning to use a Pullmax effectively for shrinking, stretching and planishing. I also have an english wheel, but lack experience with it. I intend to practice on several 914s of my own, as time goes by.
