914 in "The Making of Le Mans"

Saw the Speedchannel show they show every year at this time and noticed the white 914 behind Steve McQueen during one of the interviews. Lots of great Porsches sitting around. Was the factory involved in the movie? It wasn't mentioned.

You are talking about the Sonauto 914/6GT that placed first in the GT class, 7th overall. I think the factory supported the effort but not the movie except to provide cars. That 917 is owned by Bruce McCaw and is shown/driven nearly every year at SIR in Seattle for the SOVERN benefit race.

Thanks for the link. But, the one in the interview was stock (not a GT) and had no decals. I think the factory provided a 911 for McQeen to use off camera. But maybe it was a 914.
