rust in fuel tank
How is the best way that you guys have found to remove rust from a fuel tank, I have a good fuel tank but is rusty inside and I need to remove it.

Usually I run a fuel line into a container and then jumper the fuel pump relay. It doesn't get it all out, but disconnecting the lines under the tank usually dumps the rest of it onto me as I lay under the car.

If there is a lot of rust you need to pull the tank and clean it. Check for shops that do tank cleaning. You can do it your self with about 12 gallons of vinegar soaking it for days. Needs to be rinsed with a baking soda solution immediately after the vinegar is removed. Messy and time consuming task. I have done several this way. Professional cleaning starts at $150 with the shop that I found that will do it . Not many shops left that clean tanks with tighter environmental laws.
