carbs
Does any of our readers have any experience with the EMPI HPMX carbs. I am rebuilding a 1973 914 and have a possibillity to get a couple cheap but do not want some bad experience

You can make them work, but they will never run like a good set of Webers or better yet, Dellortos. Talk to Blackline Racing in Utah. And go read up on the Samba forums.

I have a set on my 914 2.0L. Cam is a scat, bursch exhaust and 009 distributor. They are great, however, I had to change the I believe jets or mixture screws ( they screw in from the top via the air filter. After I did that the car runs great.
