4 lug 914 hubcap wheels

Im looking for a set of four 914 4 lug steel wheels that accept a stock hubcap, not the 4 spoke style. 15"x5.5", with a 4 3/4" backspace (I think). Can anyone help me? Thanks- Zach

I'd check the VW magazines and call around to the ads there. Tell them you need 15X5J steel wheels with dome caps (I think).

Be careful they aren't VW wheels, though, they have shorter backspacing. Be sure to look for 70 - 73 steel wheels for a 914.

I am also seeking some decent restorable 5.5" wide steel "hubcap" wheels. Presumably these, if they're 914-original, will have ET40.

Thanks,

As long as it's in decent restorable shape (straight, not dinged, and not too rusty), I'm interested. Shipping would be to Branford, CT 06405.

Please e-mail me with total amout of $'s to send, who to make check payable to, and where to send it.

Many thanks,

Steve

Funds going out today (technically tomorrow, I guess, since I don't think USPS is working today) to Charles/racingredsc--thanks again Charles.

If anyone else has any other decent, restorable 5.5" wide original Porsche 914 hubcap wheels, ET40, I'm interested (soon will only be needing 3...).

Thanks again,

I have a set of four that came off of a 1973 2.0 liter. The tires are rotted and the rims are rusted. I was going to haul them to the dump. Are these OEM rims getting rare or hard to find? Should I consider having the tires removed, the rims bead blasted and powder coated?

If they're relatively straight and not too badly rusted, you might consider saving them, as I think they are relatively unique in a world "flooded" by similar looking--but not similar-fitting--VW wheels (just my opinion). If you care to, I'd be interested in seeing some pictures of yours in "before" condition (CommonGear@aol.com).
