removing windshield chrome pieces

i'm getting ready to paint my car due to the previous owner's mistakes. he painted all the chrome on the car w/o sanding it, so the paint is not sticking well. i think the chrome is still in good shape, so i hope to save it (leave the chrome look). Anyone know how to remove the windshield chrome so i clean it? is it difficult? how about removing the sail panel chrome and the chrome bar that goes across the back of the car (right below the targa top)? any help would be appreciated. thanks.

gently pry the windshield chrome off with a screw driver. kinda work it back and forth along the edge. It's just little plastic clips holding it on.

Sail chrome is screwed on I believe.

It's just aluminum so be gentle.

Try some paint stripper.
