FS: 1975 914 Driver/project in North Carolina
1975 Porsche 914 with 5-lug conversion. Original color Forest Green (L64K).
Original 1.8L engine, L-Jet Fuel Injection, runs great, no weird noises, etc. No smoke, per my wife who followed me at 80 mph. Fuel and vacuum lines were replaced about 5 years ago. Bursch Exhaust. Good heat exchangers. The car drives pretty nice, Trans is VERY smooth, but I think clutch is mis-adjusted or worn. Previous owner replaced bushings/etc in shifter several years ago. Front suspension is 911, rear KYB. Car appears to be lowered maybe 1” from standard, and has a nice stance. Body is very good, there is rust in the lower right-side door. There is rust bubbling under the side vinyl on the left side. Under that, there is rust in the door jamb, beside the latch. It isn’t pretty, but it does not seem to be a structural problem. I found a skim coat of body filler in left rear fender, feels like old collision damage (light). There is a scrape in right rear fender, looks like car was a bit close to the garage! Bumpers are excellent. Car was originally Forest Green, was given a bad repaint about 20 years ago, in White. Hellhole has surface rust, but I can see no structural damage. Battery tray has rust, but is the original. No rust in floor pans. Slight surface rust (minor) in rear trunk, at edge. Car was originally from Texas, brought to North Carolina about 10 years ago. Previous owner had car for 15+ years. Wheels are 15x5.5 Lemmerz from an early 912, with new Kumho tires, and new Febi steel lugs. Stainless Steel brake lines on all four corners. Interior is pretty good. Seats are very nice, with black cloth inserts. Upper and lower dash pads are perfect. Dash face is bad. Door panels have been recovered, nicely, in incorrect vinyl. Carpet if fair. Newer Blaupunkt Colorado Tuner with Cassette. Console good condition, except that armrest (lid) has some cracking. Gauges all work, except for clock, and odometer (which failed at 107,000). Previous owner thinks that he has driven car about 5000 miles since then. Turn signal switch is new Porsche. Targa top seals well with no water leaks noted. Clear NC Title. I purchased this car intending to swap the Porsche 911 suspension pieces over to my car, and keep the transmission as a spare, but it really is too nice to part out. I drove it home, about 30 miles, without incident. Car has been sparingly driven by previous owner for the past 10 years, but it has been Emissions Tested/Inspected yearly (passed last September). Just driven again today, approx 30 miles. Right front caliper is sticking slightly from sitting, but the car drives great. This is the best shifting 914 I have ever driven, and handling is superb. This would make a great restoration/conversion candidate, or a fun car to drive with some TLC. E-mail for 50+ pics of interior/longitudinals/undercarriage/suspension. $2800 |
