Welcome to the assylum !.
When you post ....do more in header i.e. WTB: 2 liter engine etc
so subscribers know what you are looking for..>Also try 914world.com
both good but you will find more there.
Good luck,

Mike,
Welcome to the board. There is a very reputible seller in Ebay who goes by the userid of Jhot Imports. They are located in Denton Texas. I have purchased upwards of a dozen JDM EJ20 swaps from them in the last two years. They are a top notch operation selling only the highest quality low mileage swaps.

If you need some guidance regarding what specification and variant would be best for you please feel free to PM me directly. Or you can do some searching over on North American Subaru Impreza Owners Club I highly suggest you look in the pre-2002 factory turbo forum for information on the JDM stuff. My bias is towards the pre-2002 JDM engines for a variety of reasons that I would be happy to share with you if you want to discuss it. And just an FYI, but if you are looking for a USDM engine you'll be shopping for 2002 and newer. We didn't get the WRX until 2002.

ps. Stay away from the Legacy twin turbo engines unless you plan to convert it to single turbo and run it with a standalone. It's an excellent longblock motor, but the turbo configuration and electronics are junk.

thank you for the info matt. ill keep that in mind. ive decided that going the engine route first may not be the first thing i should be going for at this moment. ive unbolted most everything from the car mechanical and electronic. i would also if you could give some pointers and tips on how to go about restoring the body. hence there is some cancer. ill post pictures when i can get ahold of a decent camera.
thanks for all the help thus far.
