FS - 2.0 914 longblock - good condition
 

FS - I am selling a GA series 2.0 motor from my 1974 914. The motor is a running motor but was pulled and replaced with a rebuilt engine last year due to some oil leaks and slight smoking on deceleration. The motor runs strong and could be used as is if you need an inexpensive runner.

Includes longblock, engine tin, flywheel, fan, oil cooler and single carb intake

The motor is a complete and is located in Lincoln Nebraska. Local pickup preferred.

I have had several inquires about the motor. Here's the story.

I purchased a 914 recently and it came with the spare motor. I'm in the process of picking the car up from Nebraska and rather than incur the expense of shipping this motor, I'd prefer to sell it locally. The motor is a great candidate for rebuild or it can be used as is (i.e. to bring back your dead 914 or bus). The prior owner of the 914 had another 2.0 motor that was freshly rebuilt so he swaped the motors. However the owner tells me that this motor "is fine" and runs strong.

I updated / lowered the price as I'd love a quick sale on this motor.

Also, I spoke with a prior owner of my 914 who installed this motor in my car. It was a rebuilt 2.0 GA motor installed back in the '80s and has covered approx 50K since then. The car lived a pampered life and according to the prior owner, it was 100% stock internally.
