excessive fuel consumption

Hi all

I checked my fuel consumption and I nearly dropped dead..

Im currently getting 11-12 MPG.

Service was done about 1000 miles ago - so plugs and airfilter have been changed.

Car is a 2.5, 944 N/A.

Not hard driving either - always in and around 3500 rpm. Lots of Town driving - but surely it is far to high.

Any thoughts to why????

Cheers

Frankydoom

running a little rich?
fuel regulator?
do a compression test.
you may be losing fuel.
what type of gas do you burn.. octane.. use 94...91 is minimum..
what type of plugs did they use.. stick with regular Bosch plugs, do not use splitfires or anything fancy.. they won't woirk properly with you car..
bad injector(s)?

Your car does not have an O2 sensor (RoW\Eurospec)

Do you get the smell of gasoline anywhere?

Assuming you do not have a fuel leak somewhere, check the following

Distributor cap, rotor, plugs, wires, air filter

If those are all good, then check:

AFM, injectors, throttle switch, vacuum lines
