Sunroof Problems, and more driving

Ok, I brought my car to school for a while, and now I get to keep it until spring break(in a week) It's great to be able to drive it and I keep finding every excuse to drive it. We've had really nice weather lately so I wanted to fix my sunroof. My motor runs, the switches are good, etc. I took it apart, and there is a tube that holds the worm gear in place. that tube has a tab on it that keeps in in the right spot in the plastic gearbox. Well my plastic box is toast. The front of it is blown out and cracked. I used a c-clamp and that worked for a minute, but the plastic is just too brittle so the top of the plastic box is losing it's integrity too and now the gears grind. I can't latch my roof! I can latch it from the front so I don't think it will fly off, plus I've been doing all my driving with the roof off lately, but I really should get this fixed. Anyone know where I can get this plastic box I need? Do you think the dealer will have it? I sort of want a new part because I don't want one that will get brittle again fast. When did they switch the sunroof mechanisms? Are later cars different?
Thanks!
-Ryan

Well I checked pelican and they don't list anything like what I need, guess I have to wait a week to visit the dealer. I drove my car last night in some really heavy fog, it was kind of fun, I love this car!!

I'm glad I don't have the power sun-roof. I'd say that is the part of the 944 that breaks the most...

you have a manual roof? If so I'm jealous, I'd give up my power for a manual one anyday. No roof though? no thanks, I love the air.

Yeah, I have a manual. Don't think I would give it up. It's starting to get warm here. It must have been like 75-80 today...i wish my car was running right...
