Idle gets higher and higher

When i first start my n/a 87 944, my idle is at about 800-900, but as the cacr gets warmer my idle starts going up all the way to 1600 plus at idle. What is the solution, thanks Josh

I had a similar problem. Its the idle control valve staying open when the car warms up, exact problem I have yet to determine. I removed the idle valve entirely and blocked off the ends. It idles great once its warmed up, when its cold it wont idle at all. I think its the AFM in my case, DME temp sensor is new. I have a spare afm but no time to test it in the car.
