$250,000 356?
Wow, anyone know that kid Frankie Muniz? He's on that show on fox called "Malcolm in the the Middle." Anyway, on MTV last night there was a show called "Punk'd" where they fool celebrities and they tricked him into thinking someone stole his 1956 356 Speedster worth $250,000. It was kind of funny seeing him go crazy. Anyway, this kid is 16, also has a Maserati, an Escalade, and the Jetta from Fast and the Furious (which was recently broken into and stripped...)

I found it amusing when Nicholos Cage's '89 speedster was stolen, the press kept talking about the $100,000 Porsche. It's not worth half of that. I soppose someone in the press asked what it's worth, and some bubblehead blurts out "must cost $100,000" and everyone runs with it.
Rumor becomes fact, I guess. |

yeah, didn't they find it in the bottom of a lake? I wonder how much jerry seinfeld has invested in his porsches...?

I don't know exactly what it was but evidently only 200 of them were made...and it was in perfect condition.

Not an America Roadster, then... there were only 17 of those.
Maybe one of those 356 Continentals? I know Lincoln put up a stink when Porsche named one of its cars that, although I have no idea how many were made...

The value of these cars must increase exponentially the moment a celebrity buys it.
A Lotus V8 TT formerly owned by Frankie was on Ebay a few weeks ago. It was given to him by MGM studios, IIRC.

356 Continentals aren't worth $250k. I've met two people who have owned them.
I'd love to have a 356 Coupe someday. Especially a 4 cam Carrera or an A model.

I love the side profile of the America Roadster... it looks like a curvier Speedster.

The new EXCELLENCE is a wonderful issue; features on the America Roadster, the Ruf CTRs, the 968CS, and a market report on early 911s... i read every article (doesn't always happen - most of the time i skip the ones about club racers and their modified 964s, they are a dime a dozen)
