"saratoga" tops have returned
hey yall. even though i have left the porsche ownership community, i still surf the boards and whatnot. i saw an ad in excellence magazine that may interest many people. I found a website that sells glass sunroofs new and some other mods for the 944. just click on products then go to 944. http://www.toysforyourtoys.com/explorer.htm
take it easy ya'll. brendan.

I dunno,
Some of their products look pretty good (I am partial to the glass sunroof) The carbon fiber look is lost upon me. The shift knob is nice - that part is not available from Porsche - on the other hand, I did mine with some red paint, a rag, and some clear nail polish.. Not a bad deal on hand painted centercaps. We'll see. AFJuvat

the reason i say that is because most of the stuff they have, you can do yourself and it is way over priced, unless they changed some stuff since i last looked at it when this topic surfaced at rennlist

I like the sunroof but the carbon fibre is horrible. Why is the carbon fibre red? It might not look too bad in black.

not a bad deal on the center caps... yeah RIGHT! That's the EXCHANGE price, same goes for the tail lights. You're paying them over $100 just to paint them, IMO the price is horrible.

My 1984 has a scratched up console, and I bought a set of black carbon fiber trim to cover the scratches. The set came with some fifteen pieces. There were even carbon fiber sections for the cassette lid, glovebox cover, and door armrests. I did not think that these pieces were necessary....that is, excessively "rice". In the end, I only used sections for the center console, and gear shifter trim (to replace the worn carpet trim). Here are the results:

It turned out to be a nice upgrade to update the look of the older style console. P/S. Yes, I agree....the red carbon fiber is hideous.....the black carbon fiber is more tastefully, and it matched my black interior very well. |
