S2/968 steering wheel options

I ordered the MOMO adapter 7004 which appears to fit the 968, but upon further research, slight modification to the tab is required, and the horn is to become inoperable. What the?

I was hoping other people have successfully modified the steering wheel to maintain horn function. Should I've just tried ordering the Clubsport wheel from Porsche?

I'm in process of removing the SRS connector and possibly the rotary contact in the OEM hub. The momo adapter has a rotary plate, whereas the OEM wheel has a spring-loaded contact. I may try adapting the spring contact into the momo hub, or possibly the other way around?

Anyone have experience here? I cannot stand to look at the ugly SRS wheel.

Thanks!

No airbags with aftermarket steering wheels.

You need to backdate the horn/turn signal stuff to non-airbag 944 spec to get the horn working, from what I understand.

Then you need to work on disabling the airbag system in order to remove the dash warning lights.

I've also seen 996 wheels installed in the 968, perhaps that is a better direct fit? Will research.

Thinking I'll just upgrade the dash lights to LED and possible disconnecting the SRS idiot light below the gauges...

928-652-104-00 snapped right into place to get the horn working and an airbag delete connector also was an easy fix... I don't remember the part number.

Is this the airbag delete connector you're thinking of?

That sure looks like it. It's likely a 944 or 928 number when it comes to the 968

Not seen that before. Thanks for sharing.
