auto tranny
I posted this to the classifieds but being impatient I'm posting here too. I'm needing a good used auto tranny for a 944, please let me know what you guys have, any possibilities are appreciated.

Been there done that, thanks for the suggestion. It would be best for me to rebuild what's left rather than buy a used one that I'll have to go over anyways. I'd really love to find one for parts.

BTDT lately? It's from '83 (no speedo sensor) but you should be able to swap the tranny section you need (then sell the diff).
Guess it wouldn't hurt to pull & clean the flat governor & valve body etc when you reseal & put it back together. see:

I am looking into doing the swap to a 5 speed. If I can get it done, I will sell you mine.
Was rebuilt just before I bought the car. Not sure what shipping on something like that would be but.... Let me know.

Of course I'm interested, sheez I've got many parts to do the conversion if you'd like, even the tranny. BTW: in regards to the that tranny on ebay, the pic scares me. The amount of oil residue on top shows that it's been leaking atf or gear oil from the front input shaft area, same problem w/ the other. It just fed atf to the front pinion bearing, it's toast now.

http://mall.rennlist.com/scripts/listings/ads.pl?search_and_display_db_button=on&db_id=41608&query=retrieval (but if it's just your diff section maybe someone has a 'bad' automatic transaxel with a good diff?)
