Will 86' 944 phone dials fit a 76 911s?

Does anyone out there know if the 15" x 7" phone dials from an 86' 944 will fit onto a 76' 911s?

I'm not 100% sure, but they don't fit.

The pre-87 944 and the pre-964 911s had the same wheel offset. So they should fit, but I would test fit first.The biggest obstacle should be the width of the wheel. The '74 911 had narrow rims.So double check the clearance at the wheel arch.
