944 Wheels
I recently picked up a set of very nice 7x15 phone dial wheels for my 83 944. Only problem is, my cookie cutters offset is 23.2mm, the phone dials is 52.3mm. As a result, the wheels don't fill out the fender wells nicely. Does anyone know a good source for spacers? Is it wise to go to a bigger tire(say a 225/60/15) with spacers?
As always, advice is appreciated. |

I had this problem a year ago doing the same thing, then went to 17inch rims, sold them back, now I've got the cookies again...
Oh, by the way, I need one cookie cutter rim! And might buy two if you like. I've also got a set of spacers for sale, they're for the rear only, but if I remember right, the major problem is in the rear, front doesn't look too bad right? If you're interested in my spacers, or selling me a cookie cutter rim, please e-mail me at: tazdevil82@aol.com |

If you still need spacers try Fred Booth. He has ads in most panos. He make the right kind of spacers, they are excellent quality. I have two 1" for sale if you like. I also have a set of fuchs with the proper offset for sale. They have 225/50/15 sp8000 on the back and 205/55/15 up front. This set up works better than when I had the 225/60's. It also stepped up my gear ratio, so i'm faster off the line, at least in feel anyway. E-mail me if you need more info.

This is a little late for you, but here it is anyway:
try http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/1760/ then pick "Buying a used 944", then "944 FAQ Document", then "14.0 Performance Modifications" and scroll down to the table. it has wheel size and offset info by year of car, in case you need it. |
