Once again los ethe "caps".
Replace the ground wire, if you haver an older car they may have simply built up too much resitance, also look for a chaffing wire harness as this could also be your problem, and once again what year is your car? ------------------ The shortest distance between two points is in my car. |

Oops!
Sorry I didn't notice before that you said you have this problem when you wash the car. My first suspicion would be the drains in the cowling. If you open the hood there is an area behind the firewall where the battery and central electric board (fusebox) are located along with a plastic cover under which is the blower for the climate control. Anyway there are drains on both sides of the car that drain out behind the front fenders. If these get clogged they may be the cause of your intermittent problem as water can get into places that it isn't supposed to get into. Hope this helps. EDIT: actually with an 84 I'm not sure what exaclty it looks like behind the firewall, perhaps 1.2 gees can help here. ------------------ The shortest distance between two points is in my car. Well, it's pretty much the same, except there's no cover over the fresh air vent, and the fuse box is not out there either.
I'd check around the caps for the front signals (the wire caps, to weather proof, they're rubber), after you take them off, and pull back the carpet in the back to check that area. Make sure no water can run into your taillights either, from the exterior seal, or any water that might find it's way there on the interior, such as the hatch latch drains. Also check all wiring around the signals carefully, specially near drains. (I'm sure you'll find SOME corrosion if this has been going on for a while). Besides that, check what Pilot says. Good luck, Ahmet ------------------ It's all the driver... |
