Headlight Electrical Connection Repair

This may be a little too detailed for some but it's something I actually enjoy working on... I've been researching electrical connectors that are used throughout our cars and am in the process of drafting a part number database. So here goes:

A connector pin broke when I removed my headlight motor a few weeks ago in order to perform some detailed cleaning.

Ground wire harness removed with new pin (part #: 0175624):

Pin Extraction Tool (use the long hollow cylinder):

I've recently purchased the Tool Aid Ratcheting Terminal Crimping Kit (Part #18980) and used crimp die #18922, Position 16-14 AWG:

Insert pin as shown:

Ground harness installed:

Happy crimping!!

This is great info...thanks!

Would also be great to have a source for some of those rubber contact shields.

After I'd removed the valence and front bumper from my '87NA, along with associated lights (fog, sides, etc.) I'd discovered that while all the electrical connections were still good - the rubber protectors are basically trash, and I'd love to find some new ones. Any ideas?

Are you referring to these? If so, I'm being told that they are (unfortunately) no longer available.

Yup...those are the ones. Mine are still there but full of rips and tears - and I'm thinking that a bit of carefully applied liquid electrical tape might do the trick.
