Morning glory
Yes, Morning Glory.
My car wakes up when the sun hits it. After a good half hour of direct sunlite, the cooling fans kick on and subsequently drain my battery. Is this a common occurance? I've never experienced this before with any other vehicles that I've owned. What could possibly be causing this? Frank B

Sheez Frank, jumping on the fan thermo switch bandwagon are we? Get a new one and save your battery, get a lower temp one if you'd like.

It's not that hard to replace. After watching my mechanic change mine, I was wishing that I had saved money, ordered the switch from Pelican, and did it myself. The switches are only about $20 IIRC.

I can't find my thermo switch...is it on the right of the radiator when facing the car, under a big hose?

Here is a picture of what it looks like
Picture borrowed from Pelican parts site.
There are 3 contacts. + 1 2 Basically 2 switches in one. the + and 1 drives one fan at 92 Celcius and the secind set + and 2 drives the second fan at 102 celcius.

Your welcome Frank. By the way you need to get the washer seal seperately. Imagine that. Don't all shoes that need laces, bring laces??!!
hheheheh.

One more thing, you probably new this but make sure you have a pan ready or something to collect all the radiator fluid, this put a lot of air in my system and was a total pain to bleed. Good Luck
