Contact Enhancer
Has anyone trie Stabilant 22A manufactured by DW Electochemicals in Ontario, Canada. It was developed for sensitive navigation electronics for the aircraft industry and for bio-medical stuff. IT IS EXPENSIVE.
There is a website. Just search for Stabilant. Has anyone tried it????? Here is website: D.W. Electrochemicals, Ltd. [This message has been edited by Lawrence Coppari (edited 08-19-2000).] [This message has been edited by Lawrence Coppari (edited 08-19-2000).] |
Dumb question but, what the heck is it?
|
All I know is that it is some sort of polymer that becomes a conductor when a voltage is applied across it. Otherwise it is not a conductor. It has gotten good reviews in some electronics mags.

Umm, duh!
It "enhances contact"... http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/tongue.gif j/k Anyway, where on the car would you use this Lawrance? ------------------ It's all the driver... |
You would use it wherever there is a contact that needs to be enhanced, of course.
|
I have had to clean the connectors on my MAF twice because of poor contact making the thing run rich. I would also put it on all the fuse legs and relay plugs. It is used on plug in circuit boards in computers. Use it anywhere like 951 said.

Never heard of the stuff. I use something called "Contact OL" made by Wurth. This stuff works great!
|
I have the Wurth contact cleaner also. It works nicely but is only a cleaner. Get on Yahoo.com and do a search on stabilant 22 and read the automotive application material. I'm buying some this weekend.
