Question re: Clip/Cable/Heater control valve 924S/early 944
Hello All,
Am posting this outside my thread in order to get some expert eyes/advice. I have my engine in the engine bay but not yet fully mated to the driveshaft, and realized I need to install my new Heater Control Valve. Yes, I did save the clip from the original and have a photo for orientation. My problem/question: that little clip doesn't grip the heater Bowden cable sheath well ... so seems clear it won't be effective in this state. EDIT: I just went to take a photo for this post and see the cable sheath is actually cracked. So here's the question: would you agree that the replacement cable I need (from cockpit heater controls to heater control valve) is #27 in the PET? I think it should be based on the diagram showing the cable on the correct (left) side of the HVAC plenum and the fact that the next P/N in the diagram, #28, is the clip. That would make the Bowden cable 944 572 647 00 and the clamp 477 819 343 (may as well have a spare) Agree? Thanks for a second, third, et al set of eyes. John

Well that wasn’t a very productive post. I’ve attempted a fix using a bicycle cable ferrule. $0.33
