I did a search first!!!

I am probably going to need a new engine. The future of my car is undecided for the time being. I might part it...MIGHT fix the engine I have...get a different OEM engine...or add a little surprise under the hood. If I go the surprise route I will probably go for the 968 engine, anybody know the difficulty. I've seen a few cars with it done and I think it looks awesome in the engine bay. Yes, I did do a search and I didn't find much other then it isn't easy. what all need to be changed?

Also...I've thought about doing something kinda far out there, something like a Nissan SR20DET or an RB26DETT (but I think it'll be too long).

Any ideas/suggestions/opinions?

I dont think that the 968 swap is all that difficult as long as you can find the engine for a goos price. I think the basic things that you need are the engine, computer and torque tube? not sure, but I dont think the list is all that long.

What about going with a 951 engine? It would probably be just about as easy as the 968 (maybe easier) and would be able to provide some more power.

The 951 engine is a big pain in the rear correct?

the 951 swap is not a pain at all if you have like 10K sitting around, and donar 951 with a good front clip.

The 968 engine swap has been done and documented on this board. Keep looking it's a recent thread. But again it was also a ton of money to do.

I had a blown engine on my 85.5 NA after my bout with supercharging, I found another NA engine for $400 used and went through it and resealed it and checked everything over. Another $300 in parts and it was back on the road again.

I've already looked at the yellow one (I think that's the one you wanted me to look at). He hired it done and added some other stuff along with it, I'm going to wrench it myself (with my dad's help of coarse). Any rough estimates on the overall cost? Anybody know a good place to get the engine and ECU?
