Can someone help me out identifying this oil leak

My 944 turbo HD developed an oil leak after sitting all winter. I’m familiar with 911’s but this is a new venture for me. It appears to be coming from where the power steering housing mounts. I removed it in favour of a manual rack so maybe wiggling it with wrenches loosened something up.

Thanks,
Andrew

That can be due to many things, but if you do your front of engine seals, it should fix it.

If that doesn't fix it, it may be your oil pan gasket or your balance shaft cover...

Look above this location if you can...see if you can trace the leak as high up as possible. Also...if you can sneak a few paper towels up to that point, and wipe away as much oil as you can, you just might see more closely exactly where the oil originates.

Also...what is that hose (looks like a pressure hose) resting on top of your sway bar? Should it be hanging that low?

I should have posted in the 944 turbo section, thanks for the replies guys. This thing sat for 10 years or so in a garage, just trying to bring it back to everyday life. I’ll get the hose fixed, it looked like the oil was coming from that location, not above it, but I’ll double check tomorrow.

+1 to what kdjones2000 said. Front engine reseal will likely fix the issue. If I were to guess, the lower balance shaft seal - but too hard to tell with these photos only.

Other possibilities besides front engine reseal could be lower balance shaft cover, oil pan gasket, oil cooler lines, OPRV housing seal
