New 944!!!!!!!!!
Well I finally have another running 944. 1986 944 n/a. In fact it is from a fellow board member, ch944. I took the car out for a drive tonight and braught her to my uncles and put it on the lift. Thing is nice all around with a crack free dash. I am so happy I have a new car. Now I need to get my hands on a belt tool. Anyone know a way of not paying 500 for one?

My local porsche dealer loaned me theirs for the afternoon. Maybe i was lucky, but i'm sure they'll at least rent it to you. The procedure only takes about 30 mins to an hour once you get used to how the tool works.
Good luck |
Way to go Josh!!!.
Did u ever sell the harley??? |
Yeah I traded the harley for the car. I am soooooo happy. This really made my day. I have been trying to save up for your conversion kit but crap keeps happning. This car I got now is so nice I would not want to do a turbo conversion on it. I am so very happy.
I am not even sure where the closest porsche dealer is to me. I am debating on buying the tool. I am also wondering where I can get a step by step tutor for my belt change. I am so weary of changing them. I really do not want to have an accident because I do not have the money for a new head job. |
Dude, if my friend doesnt buy my p-tools ill sell them to for $500. Thats 3 tools total, 4 if you include the calibraion bar for the tensioning tool. At $500 you'll save like $130 if you bought them seperately. Let me know, I'll let you know. The were only used a couple of times.

Glad your happy Josh. We both know you got on of the nicest 944s out there. I made out pretty good to, I'm happy. I know you'll take good car of it based on your past Porsche ventures and enthusiasm. Once again good luck and best wishes to you and the rest of the board members. It's been a fun 3 years.

http://www.clarks-garage.com/ has all the infor that you should need in changing the belts. When I did my belts I bought the tool and calibration bar to do the inial tension and the 1000 mile tension, after that I just sold it on Ebay. I wanted to do the work myself and it was nice having the tool to work with when I wanted and not woring about having a deadline to return it.
