shade ( in hatch area) wont retract

I got the hatch open! yeh! The problem is no big deal to fix- the thick wire to the latch pin slipped out of the mechanism that the key turns.

But stupidly, I pulled on the shade that covers the cargo and now it wont retract.

Any one have an idea?

Thanks, Anne

Try rotating the retractable cover's cylindrical carrier slightly - as the cover may be hanging up an edge of the slot from which it exits the carrier.

(wow...good timing Neil!)

Try a Google search you may find a way to "reset it". I think I remember reading something previously.

The plastic end caps on the roller cylinder self destruct over time. If the side that connects to the spring breaks, the tension is released and it won't retract. There are aluminum aftermarket ones available, but I don't see them on Pelican. Nicely made, and fairly easy to replace.

I'm using the aluminum ones. Look the same with better durability. I'd recommend them.
