dog of a 944
I have a 83 944 that has a loss of power. It seems that it first started and I could let it run and it would clear up.Now it seems it's missing. no power.I just had new water pump and belts installed by local shop.I called them and he thought that it was the things up on the fuel rail.I see them there but have no idea what they do.Is this the problem or is what I think as a clogged catilatic converter?

When you have got the car back from the mechanic, was the car running fine ? Was it a dog then ?

I assume you're referring to the fuel pressure regulator and damper. I had these go bad on my 951 recently, and it ran like crap until I had them replaced. So that could be your problem as your mechanic suggested.

I would check you'r vacume lines mecanics sometimes take them off and forget to put them back on. They make more money that way.

check to see if you are getting vacumn to the 2 fuel pressure regulaters (one on each
end on top of the fuel rail, they are round about 2 inches long and 2 inches in diameter and each has a vacumn line going into them). With the engine running they should have constant vacumn otherwise bad running engine. |
