Stock, in a straight line, the early turbos, and S2s are quite close, with the turbo edging out. The later models, specially the 88 turbo Ses, and the 89 turbos are faster hands down...

If you can launch the car right, either one of the turbos will spank an S2 0-anything, including top speed. The turbos open the gap at higher speed ranges, but you have to find the right gear, or you'll sit there! (turbo lag!).
The turbos are also more capable on the track, however it takes a skillfull driver to beat the times of an avarage person driving an S2.

At an auto-x type of driving event, the S2 will be VERY hard to beat by a turbo, my 8v NA hasn't even gotten beat yet!

I thought I had the factory 0-60 times in one of my books but couldn't locate it. The 0-60 times are probably not that far apart for a 951(non S) and NA S2. The non S 951s top speed is limited to 152, I think, by the computer. The thing that will make the 951 so much faster is the unlimited potential of the engine for upgrades; some inexpensive, some expensive. It all depends on your budget and what you want to do with the car. It is very easy to get 285-300 hp and then you can do a little more $$$$ and get close to 350-400. I know a guy running 367, dyno sheet and he probably has less than 5 grand in upgrades(he did pay some shop labor). The NA cars, they're great, I had two, but upgrading performance is limited.
