A very satisfying story. I had a somewhat similar experience with an Alfa GTV6. Such great cars deserve to be saved.

Matt, what is interesting about the interior, and I'm told this was a brief thing in the early nineties, is the leather is marbled. You can see it in this shot of the door panel.

Thanks for posting the story that’s really cool.
It looks awesome with the rare red interior.
Glad it could be saved. The cutting and welding is outstanding.

Wow, really nice metal work! Can't wait to see the finished product, though it's gotta be fun to roll around with the stitches visible. Worth showing off

The marbled leather is wild; never seen nor heard of it in a Porsche. Much better than the pleated weirdness that was also going on at the same time.
