Car Covers: Silverguard Plus questions... Porsche OEM or Coverking?
Need to get some better car covers for my cars and I have been recommended Coverking Silverguard Plus covers from a fellow 944'er here and have both great warranty and replacement after warranty.
But while looking for a deal on them I stumbled upon Porsche's outdoor covers. I used to have a Porsche cover, but it disintegrated in the sun after a few years, and I think it was the indoor cover, not the outdoor and it didn't have the soft inner lining that new ones have. The Porsche ones also say Silverguard Plus and they both use a similar 300 dernier polyester fabric. Is Coverking making their covers? And the Porsche cover is cheaper than Coverking Porsche Cover $179 ($199) https://www.getporschesilverspringparts.com/oem-parts/porsche-silver-guard-plus-outdoor-car-cover-944-968-pna508944 Coverking $252 ($239 cheapest I could find drops with coupon and no sales tax outside of FL) https://coverking.com/products/1987-porsche-944-car-cover?variant=40332918259874&sub=S&main=car-cover-silverguard-plus Is anyone here using the Porsche ones?

I have used both for many years in the AZ sun.
They are basically similar, but with some key differences. 1) Porsche one has a window for the license plate 2) Porsche fits tighter to your car 3) Porsche one has P O R S C H E on the front of it 4) Porsche one should come with a cable kit to secure it to your car The Porsche silverguard + cover has been discontinued, in favor of some new material that is like 2X the cost. That link shows a good price for it - I would buy it if I were you before they sell out.
