Air Flow Meter's Part # ??

The temp resistance of the old AFM worked improperly so I replaced with an used one.

The AFM in my car (I own the car for 20 years) with parts# 0280203027, and the used one # 0280203029. My car runs normal after replacement.

The myst is 0280203027 supposed using in BMW... but it has been in my car for 2 decades (I didn't know if the previous owner replaced it?)

Their appearance looks same. Only difference in temp sensor (see photos -- 0280203027 with copper wires ; 0280203029 with a rubber covered)

I saw a factory selling brandnew #0280203027. Is it a good try to replace the used (but runs good) 0280203029 with a brandnew #0280203027 ??

You didnt specify your car but I will assume its a S2. I have a 1989 S2 and this is the AFM I had in my car (which I have since sold)

All german cars of this generation shared Bosch parts, so its not surprising that you have a BMW AFM in your car. They also share throttle position sensors as well as many other sensors across makes.

This is a USDM car.

Im not sure what your question is but it sounds like you are asking if you can replace the current BWM AFM in your car (which has been running fine for decades) with another BMW AFM of the same part number...

Since its been running fine for decades with the BMW AFM I think you have your answer... Im not sure why you would replace a working BWM AFM, which you have had in the car for decades and isnt broken, with another exact same working BWM AFM but by all means go for it.

I dont think there are any differences between the OEM S2 AFM and the BMW one you have, because if there were you would have noticed something dont you think, especially after decades?

Yes, my car is 944 S2. This is the old AFM with part #0280203027. It was made in France. Seem not from BOSCH.

The reason is, the temperature sensor inside AFM worked improper that caused the engine shut down during traffic light, and rough idle when engine going hot (such as stop at traffic light or traffic jam)

After replacing another used AFM (#0280203029) everything back to normal.

My question is, anybody's 944 S2 coming with a BMW AFM (#0280203027) ?? Since I find a warehouse selling new #0280203027 so I am considering to replace the used one (#0280203029) or buy it as a spare.

I would recommend checking the Porsche 944 PET catalog (google) for your year/model S2 and cross reference the part numbers listed there for the AFM. There could be multiple iterations of the AFM which may have overlap with the BMW cars.
