DIY seat recovering
First off. Thanks to all of you in this community that have been a massive help over many years with expertise and advice. Hope this is help to somebody as well.
I have recovered a number of seats over the years, as ost of my Porsches have reached me in some state of distress. I will say there are people better and worse at it than myself. I will also say that it is absolutely something someone can do without experience and get great results. Slow and steady wins the race, this set was done with covers from LSeat. They were about $375 for the set. These are 964 seats but the Recaros from the transaxels cars will be the exact same process and seat They are for the 964 wide body I’m building for my wife. If anyone is interested, I will be adding a bunch more content on YouTube of my progress. Including the engine build. As far as bang for your buck goes, the smell of fresh leather is high on my list. Enjoy… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rf4WDommIf8&t=1708s Also, the rear seats and seat covers are for sales in the 911 used parts forum

in my volvo the seats were getting uncomfortable, anyway long story short, I used contact cement to glue the foam back together and wrapped the foam with denim from old blue jeans and more contact cement.
20 years later they are still holding my ass up and all is still intact, so that worked ok. |
