DRAIN HOLES 968 Cabriolet - rear footwells very wet

Hi,

the rear footwells, both sides, of my 968 cabriolet are very wet. Soaked in fact.

Where are the locations of all the drainage holes and pipes on the cabriolet - does anyone have a picture or a diagram with the locations ?

Any advice greatly received.

Ok. I cleaned out both of the drains in the boot (trunk) surround. One was fully blocked. Are there any others in the rear of the car that would cause water to end up on the floor in the rear seat footwells ?

I had the same issue on my 944 I had to do extensive welding in both wells . It turned out there are 3x possible sources of a leak the hatch pin locking rubber seals , the roof drain tubes being disturbed but the worse culprit was the rear light clusters leaking .
Easy check put some masking tape around the lamps and some vasoline on the rubber seals in the hatch pin wells..... see if that stops the leaks

35 year old cars tend to suffer rubber rot issues.
I wonder if there is a parts supplier that can provide a general 944 rubber parts kit?

I did some searching to see if I might find sources for general rubber parts, I did find specific kits for other cars, but very little for the porsche 944.

What I did was search for Porsche 944 on each site, the end results were basically just a long list of rubber parts suppliers and I thought posting that might put me in disfavor with pelican. anyway the results were quite dismal for specific 944 kits.

many rubber parts suppliers have a way to ask by email etc, some may provide specific parts

There are a few 944 , or porsche specific parts suppliers bit most parts seem to be all one off orders. you may find a silicone hose kit..

I wonder if it is a case that the industrial patents are retained and porsch won't release them? or something like that?
Pelican has some individual items, nothing in the form of a very extensive 944 rubber kit perhaps..

I'm a bit surprised because they do seem to have quite a large following of restorers and some nice examples rolling around.. I assume availability is not improving.

I think it probably does benefit new porshe sales, to have older examples on the road. , and of course there is a larger following if it's a 911 , just not so much if it is a 944
