Loose wheel
I just purchased 4 Michelins at Costco (great deal. After rebates I'll pay just $450 for 4 new shoes installed) and as they put the car up on the lift, they noticed the left rear wheel wobbled back and forth. They refused to mount the new tires until I fix this problem.
I've had the car for 8 months and the thing drives and runs great. I've noticed no handling problems at all. I know this topic has come up before, but I can't find the thread. I freely admit to be somewhat mechanically declined and will be at the mercy of a repair shop. Any input is appreciated. TIA

Sounds like a wheel bearing, and the car should've been very loose...
The bearings aren't going to be an easy job, if you don't want to mess w/it, just turn it over to a repeair shop. Ahmet

connecticutdan... first things first; be sure the wheel (hub)nut is torqued to spec (ie, a lot of Lb-ft - check your books, ~340 Lb-ft).

Good advice, thanks guys.
I did some looking around. Amazing what pops up on the internet when you type in "loose wheel bearing" on google. Now for a stupid question. What are the chances my wheel will fall off? The guy at Costco was very animated and said that I shouldn't even be on the road for that reason. From what I've read, I don't think the wheel is going anywhere, but excessive driving will cause friction and a worsening condition.

edit: The place I would be bringing it to charges about $70/hr.
