So what is it worth?
I am considering selling the Callaway turbo again. Details can be seen here
http://members.rennlist.com/tholyoak/CallawayForSale.htm After putting the Callaway turbo on ebay and the high bidder not completeing the deal I am not going to go that route again. I would like to sell it to another enthusiast but if I have to give it away I will just hold onto it. So what do you guys think is a fair price? Thanks for any input Todd

to me the thing is priceless. I would spend up to 12k on the thing. Too bad I don't have the money and I am selling my car jsut to get money. I have not seen your car in person, I would like too, but judging by what you did I would say it is worth 9k. thats being modest too. Some people that insist non original cars are worthless will say like 5k. Callaway 944's happen to be my favorette p car. I am also talking out of my butt because I know nothing about the value of non stock 944's. Thats my opinion though.

I don't know that I would consider this car as a typical run-of-the-mill modified car. It's more or less a 're-manufactured' car by Callaway. Your typical modified cars don't bring any extra value, as there is no blue book allowances on mods, to most people this will lower the value of the car.
But to have a car with the Callaway upgrade to it, which is documented by the major magazines, should raise the value to true enthusiasts... The Callaway cars website always has listings of cars for sale, maybe an email to them could shed some light on what the value of this car could be.

I emailed them asking if they could reman a new kit for me. I got a big fat NO. I never thaught about asking what the re sell value of the car is. I would drop big money down for it if I had it. Too bad I don't have it heh.

I'm a little more financially stable however I have sworn to pay off my high interest credit card debt before I spend anymore money on toys.
Having said that the car is everything I want in a 944... the simple classic old school style and lightness of the early 944 with a little more power. If only we were not so far apart geographically also. Although... how about sending me a email with a price. What was the price you had on ebay? BTW I'm going to be in Boston Oct.

Guys
Thanks for the responses. I was thinking of asking between $7k-8k for the car, but only if it goes to an enthusiast. I have talked to Reeves (Callaway) a couple of times about the car, met his son as well who used to own one. Funny thing is the Callaway 944 was during the initial growth period of the company and I probably have more info on the cars than Callaway does (at least that what Reeves said). He asked me to do a write up on the car and its history to be included on the Callaway cars website, but I really have been too busy to do so. Todd

I suppose if I got off my butt and sold my '84 944 that would give me a few grand towards buying your car. Last time I ran an add I didn't get much response, although that was in winter. Even in sunny S. Cal boats/motorcycles/sports cars seem to sell better in summer.
Does your car have the water injection? Hmmm...

$7K is a &*^( good number.
Anyone want to make me an offer on my 83 Euro??? Maybe I could start a "Buy My car" campaign like Stray! Seriously Scott (and Todd), I'm considering, so save me the agony and make the purchase before I have the time to... I think my wife might kill me.
