Slightly OT, a pic of my cousin and I just before my wedding

Well, I've tried to avoid totally off topic posts; but since I have this awesome picture of the car with my cousin (ten years plus 2 days younger than me) and myself in front of it, I thought I would post. I married the most wonderful woman on the planet just over a month ago. This pic was taken just before the rehersal, which we had great weather for... it rained like mad for the wedding. We had a blast though!
Mostly, I just wanted to show off the car, and couldn't resist mentioning that I got hitched!

Actually, you can sort of make out the 323i in the background as well.

I dig the euro bumpers.

How does your euro 944 compare, in terms on straight-line performance, to the 323? On paper, I'd say they are a dead heat, but what about when driving them.

driving a new-ish 3-series Bimmer actually IS fairly similar to the sensation of driving a 944. The BMW is a little bit quicker in the straight line, obviously, but the 944 feels a little more like a go-cart. They are both very fun cars.

Yeah, but remember euro 944s have 20 extra hp and 100 less lbs.

My father drove a Euro-spec 944 (on the Autobaun) back in 1983, and he said it was much faster that the American-spec 944 he bought.....(and I now drive).

The one of two times that we have been side by side accelerating, she took the first two hundred feet, easily (1/2 a car) but I caught up once I got to the higher RPMs... nonetheless, we didn't get going too fast so I can't say who would have won!
We take the 323 for comfort, not driver's pleasure. The Porsche is pure fun. I wouldn't corner anywhere near as hard in the BMW as I have in the Porsche - call me crazy... I just wouldn't.
