Post upper radiator hose

I have a coolant leak where the upper radiator hose connects to the radiator. I have changed the hose and tightend the hose clamp down as tight as I can but it still leaks. Any ideas on how to get it to stop?

Now I know why 911s are so much more popular than 944s.

It was my understanding that the 944 was more popular than the 911 in it's time...try another clamp...

Plumbing...my (less than)favorite pasttime.
How's the hose? Old? Lots of 'miles'& heat on it? Loosen the clamp, remove the hose end,
clean the corrosion & corruption from both the hose and the radiator pipe; brush the
inner & outer surfaces of both.
Inspect...see any tears, cracks, rips, holes
in the hose; flex it, check again. Was the
clamp really tight and maybe cut through the
outside of the hose and exposed an internal
defect? Is the radiator pipe whole..no cracks
or pinholes, still round?
Have enuf slack to cut away the obvious suspect end, reapply and reclamp? Or, get new
hose.Remember, where you see water (probably)
isn't where it comes from. Best luck.

Let's hope you didn't crack the flange on the radiator.

PS: Do you like 911s better? I don't...

What do you mean by popular? Porsche sold many more 944s, than 911s, during the years the 944 was in production! You can't sell a car, if there's no demand!

944's were cheaper and easier to drive too.

Fixed one of these the other day with the same problem, the inlet had a hairline crack in the solder joint, between the inlet and the radiator. I used some plumbers solder, a torch and some flux to repair the solder joint. Works great now!

Thanks I finally broke down and put some stop leak in and that fixed it. The tanks on the radiator where both replaced it was leaking before and after that I'm not 100% sure if it's from the same place though. I tried sevral diffrent clamps replaced the hose and had the radiator pressure tested again.

About the comment on 911s it was meant as a joke because they where air cooled.

911s of the same year cost alot more than a 944 so there is more demand for 911s, they are still made the 944 isn't so I would assume that 911s are more popular.
