Dashboard Clock Removal

Hey Guys, I have an '84 944, and the clock is intermittent (sometimes lags, sometimes works), so I want to check the connections and replace the light bulb. Has anyone taken that part of the center console out that can help me? I removed the two screws, and tried pulling on it, but it seems to be stuck to other things ... tips anyone?
Thanks.

Ehab, There are 2 ways...(1)The top section that houses the gauges and a/c fan switch comes off...First, pull the side carpet trim from the console..It may be connected with thick staples, or with a screw...If it is with a staple, remove it an use a trim screw to reattach...Remove the 2 screws in each corner of the faceplate...Next, you will remove the face of the temp controls...Pull the levers out one at a time by moving them to the center and pulling straight out...The knob pulls off too...Remove the 2 screws along the bottom edge of the temp control trim panel, and remove it..Remove the 2 screws along the bottom of top portion of the console, and pull it away from the dash...On the back of the clock is the bracket that you can loosen by hand to remove the clock if you need to...If you wish to replace it, check ebay..there are working clocks on there all the time that you can pick up for $25 or less...Now...the second way to get to the clock, it just remove the whole console, but it's kind of a pain...have fun!...Cus

Working on installing an air/fuel meter, where the clock is. If I go along with this, I'll have a clock to sell!

I just fixed the light for the clock, the clock itself should be fine, it only stops working when the weather gets ridiculously cold here in boston (in the teens). I cleaned the connections today, so maybe there won't be a problem anymore. Thanks for the offer though, and good luck with the gauge.

Hey Ahmet

How much you want for the clock? Perhaps then I can get rid of the $1.99 clock the previous owner put on there to hide the empty holes.
