Increased fuel consumption correlation with new clutch

After having had two clutch jobs done lately I have come to wonder if perhaps there is any correlation at all between fuel consumption and a new clutch? Are any of the fuel related parts touched removed or otherwise affected when a new clutch is put in? I have noticed on both cars that the amount of miles per gallon has been affected, leaving the economy worse than before the new clutch

Hi Rollins, hey does the term Hot Foot mean anything to you?
Really tho since the clutches were on the way out you might have been trying to save what was left by not using the right pedal as much this would account for better gas mileage, now with a new clutch you can feel ambitious and put the pedal to the floor,this will almost certainly increase the gas consumption.....other than that the oxygen sensor might need to be replaced, as this might have been damaged or not reconnected also look at the speed sensors maybe they are fouled up these are in the back drivers side of the engine also where the oxygen sensor is connected.....I hope this helps.........Stan

Thanks for the info Stan. I am certain I have been driving more aggressively since the clutch was slipping bad and I couldn't press it too hard. But there have been drastic changes. I will have to check all that stuff you mentioned out. Thanks
