Post a/c

hi everyone, im new to this site and its great, anyways, i have some problems with my 87 951 so i was wondering if anyone can help, first is the a/c. it's empty, every year i go to get it charged and it runs out in 2 weeks, os i have a leak somewhere, but i want to convert it, i had a honda and jsut put the r134 in and its been working fine, so the question is, where is the adapter for my car, i remember the guy getting way underneath the drivers side front to recharge it..anyone else convert their cars yet by jsut putting in 134a?.. let me know and thnaks for the help...jeff ripic

Using R134a in an R12 system will eventually eat all of the seals in the A/C system...not a good thing.

The adapters on my S2 are up front, just behind the left headlight. You have to get under the car to get to one of them.

Hi Jeff, well you might not have to use 134-a I used a freon replacment and it works fine, anyway remove the two lines for the AC compressor and remove the old O rings and replace em, also get some leak detector and pour it into your system get some freon substitue i have heard of people using propane, this will work and be very cheap just dont crash hard as it might explode on impact.....anyway now might be a good time to replace the reciever drier, the lil round can in the left fenderwell with the sight glass on it and as always replace ant O ring you remove..... now the fill line on my 951 86 is just next to the left shock tower it is the fatter of the 2 lines dont use the skinny line this is HI press and it will blow your chage can up if you connect to it......hope this helps.....Stan
